Hi All,

Just bought some used 31x10.50R15's on alloys rims - second hand and only x4 wheels..

I have not tired yet, but I assume a 31x10.50R15's will not fit on a 1995 Terrano's back door and that stock Jack wouldn't be upto the job, I kinda recall the jack that comes with the Terrano struggles to lift it high enough change a standard wheel...

I heard that many people carry Tyreweld instead of a spare... Holts now do a 500ml 4x4 can...

Question is what to do about a spare?

I've been with the tyre weld stuff for a while now and only hope it actually works when I need it:augie
BUT do take a spare when off road:thumbs

Many Thanks

Already got a hi lift trolley jack, usually keep in the work shop.

If you come to Wales on my linky in me siggy :augie
I'll GIVE YOU A 31 BUCKSHOT !
But
IT CAN ONLY BE USED AS A SPARE OR OFF ROAD ONLY DUE TO MINOR SIDE WALL DAMAGE.!

or.. as he dont have a LOCK on his one, get get that!

LOL

i got a lock on mine

Must be grim to live round your way:augie
I dont lock the car(fob/remote locking still not working):lol

Thats ESSEX for you country boy :augie :lol :lol :lol

Tyre weld is to be honest sh1t!!!

On my comp car Ive got tyre weld instead of a spare (designed like that!) :doh

1) As ADZ says if you get anything bigger then a nail it wont seal
2) You have to find the hole, make sure its at the bottom of the wheel then pump it in (you try find a hole in a mud covered 31 inch tyre!!!)
3) After you have pumped it all in they recomend you dont do over 50mph - apparently its an aid to get you to a garage... not a solution!
4) After you have pumped it in you've then gotta think about how your gonna pump up the tyre
5) If you take your tyre to the garage for a repair and you have pumped this stuff in they wont repair the puncture, they recomend a new tyre!!!

If it came to the crunch I would off road with a standard size spare 'just incase' rather then trust a tin of tyre weld!!! :nenau

Good to know:thumb2
Spare for off road a must:thumbs
Better find one quick as I sold my last set inc the old spare:lol:D:naughty

Ay... but you know for as long as you carry a spare round you'll never need it...

soon as you dont have a spare....... :doh :doh :doh

im sure 90% will be fobs if rubber covers are split or missing.

when i got my car they worked just about worked

but the horn / alarm was disconeted.. wire BROKEN off. so i cant put it back now.

Getting sort of back on topic :augie :lol
I got a nice small padlock for my spare
Do they actually do some sort of manufactures factory fit lock

Just a padlock I beleive.

For bigger spares, if you remove the carrier and turn it over it lifts the wheel up as its offset.

oh how much high will that make it,
as id like a little more room for when / if i move my caravan sockets.
