Hi all,
After a lovely 10 hour drive I'm back home from a week in Skye! I have to say coming back to Wolvo is a bit of a downer! I'm definitely a lot happier half way up a mountian!
Had a fantastic week, the weather was hot & we had blue sky's almost all week (again I might add. Always seem to get the sun every time I go to the Highlands!).

Been all over the shop too, we took in the Talisker Distillery in Carbost, visited the Fairy pools in Glenbrittle a great walk & a must for any photographist! Seen Eagles rolling through the air on the coast at Portree and revisited my favourite Coffee shop in the whole of Skye at Ergol, pigging out on chilli & cheese scones washed down with a pot of Tea Pigs chilli tea! :D

While I was there I had a go at some time lapse photography, seeing as the views from the cottage faced west across the sea, I thought I'd try & get some sun sets, hope you like them.

Fiskavaig bay seen from the cottage, when the tide was out a large portion of the bay was covered in muscles!

totally gorgeous! wow, what a place, thanks for posting the pics and vids, i enjoyed looking at them. I seriously need to take in some of Scotland!

Thats one smart detached cottage :thumb2 lovely looking place. I love Scotland and whilst it never rains on me as mush as the welsh skies do I dont think Ive ever had a rain free stay up there :(

Here we go, alot of my shots aren't that great because the midday sun was so strong. Think I might upgrade to an SLR & invest in some filters & lessons :).

These were on the walk to Talisker bay...

What camera have you got Loz? Liking the panoramic ones especially, can't see the joins, so assuming its an all-in-one?

Cheers Loz. Holidays sorted this year (unusually efficient for us) but I could be really tempted next year.

Bleeding hell Loz Ive just looked at the prices

Weve got a week in Cyprus all in for 2 of us for less than half that this June

It is lovely though :D

all joking aside I am very tempted :thumb2

I didn't know Club 18-30 was still going??? :augie:lol:lol:lol

Thankfully we were left midge free, except the one I bought from Skye Batiks :lol.

Yes the Cottage wasn't cheap, but it was built mid 2009 & is lovely inside (oddly I didn't take pics ), with two showers, a swirly bubbley bath & the all the bathroom floors are heated. :D & there was 6 of us sharing so it wasn't too bad cost wise. You could get four Mums & Dad's & four kiddies in there too. :)

There are loads of other cottages & b&b's on Skye & near by, so it might help to look around, although I think the views from Sea Scape are well worth it. Last year we stayed in the Kyle of Lochalsh, where the Skye bridge is.

The camera I have is a Richoh Caplio GX100 it's a great bit of kit & was ideal for me because it had all the SLR twiddly bits but without the bulk. It's great at macro's as well as wide angle shots. The panoramic photo's are individual shots that are stitched using Arcsofts Panorama maker & recently I've been using Microsofts own Image Composite Editor which can be downloaded here, which is quite nifty & is free! :thumb2

very nice pics and weren't you lucky with the weather! when ever we go caravanning we end up coming home early... regards bri

The thing is I was kind of hoping for a little rain so I could try my new rain gear. :lol

Just found out Ricoh make an adapter that allows me to use 43mm filters, so my little camera's still got more to give. :thumbs

:lol:lol Lol, have to admit I bought a new low alpine for walking in the sale a few weeks back and I was absolutely itching for it to rain.

Even the dog got sick of the sight of it but youre right it needs testing :bow
