Morning all,

If like me you woke up this morning and wondered why on earth the heating is not on, you have probably realised that the weather hsa changed.

This lead me to thinking about last years mad rush for snow chains and snow shoes....

Does anyone have any experience of snow shoes? Much cheaper than chains...

Also, do we have access to any discounts for such items?

Thanks for listening.....

Tarrah

yes, crap!

NHS were using them for the ambulances. lasted 5 mins rell apart, then they got stuck!

dont waste your money. if you need extra grip get chains.

All tosh :doh In theory it's fine IF you've got the right kind of dry snow:rolleyes:
Cheap chains are the way forward, but remember to get some cheap wheels n tyres too:sly
Been skiing in France n took old skool transit, well known for their tail happiness:D ebay chains and bobs your fannys aunt:thumbs
Snow sock pah just nick your wifes sweat shirt and tie that on:lol

Hi Slug

To be honest I would not use socks, I have tried them last year. On fresh snow they did the job, it's when the snow gets compact and when you get ice mixed in, thats when they will let you down. The sock I tried fell apart after the ice shreded them,So chains for me this year !! :thumbs

Just let the air out ya tyres :nenau

Dont get bad enough snow / ice to warrent them imo :nenau

Insa turbo Tyres make some very good snow boots!!:naughty

I've never used or neded to use snow chains, but of course now I'm looking on Ebay for a set as I won't be able to live without them ;)

Plus I might need some this winter if I'm going to be pulling people out of ditches, snowdrifts and driveways.

Sound like crap:doh
But If you need wider tyres try this:augie

ive always found that good tyres and sensible driving will cope with most conditions

:thumb2

But most conditions are only found on most roads!!!

Most of the people on here I think go looking for the rest of the roads!!

Or live in such places only accessible by 'the rest of the roads':nenau

Take this chap for example!! Chains with studs and Tracks on the back:eek:

and no snow yet!!!

Bring on the winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
