Hi all, anyone know where to get a snorkel kit from? Has any one diy'ed there own (external) one?

I did on my old truck but no idea where the ruddy pics are at the mo:doh
Basically used a Southdown fitting through the wing then I had some s/s exhaust bent to suit the windscreen angle. then a southdown intake on the top , simples:thumbs

Just aquireing parts to do my patrol!!
I got Southdown snorkel top ( Ebay 20quid ) I would just make sure that you get a big enough bore for the airflow, alot of people are selling 63mm OD and 50mmID tube that fits inside the southdown top, but the flexi pipe on the troll that goes into the air filter casing id 3.5" - 4" so that would strangle it!
If you think the 63mm tube would be ok I got loads of it let me know and you canhave some!!
The other option I thought of was to fit 2, 1 each side but that means modding the air box!! and twice the price - unless you get the flexi tube for nowt!
I have decided to go for the Stainles Steeel 3" option as I have a small section of 76mm ID pipe that the Southdown top sits inside just nicely!
You can buy the bends and straights and couplers for less than £100 on ebay

I'm going to collect my parts to save on postage but would assume £15 max PnP if all in one box!!

I'll send some pics if Iget mine done first!!

But Shouldn't need it till at least end of november:thumbs

There is only 1 factory style fit that comes from down under in AUSTRALIA.!
Comes in at around £300

Better to make your own :augie

External or internal can be done for well under £100 with guttering / alloy tube & or silicone hose :thumbs

Myself, makeitfit & extreme-4x4 have all gone internal & there are now quite a few with external :thumbs

didn't i read ona thread that external is obligatory for competition use?

I wonder what insurers say?

Yep Terranus said it needs to be outside for race/comp use. OR you can build a fire proof box round it :sly
My ins co are good with the internal one but as you all know, it's best to tell the ins man everything :doh
'cause this stupid country seems to have adopted the yanks claim culture:(
