Looks pretty but I don't think it'll actually fit the T2 without some more fibreglass and tigerseal
Be worth a punt though as you could then remodel it when finished and market it done :thumbs

I will make one like venture's, Costs about £40-50 in bits

I mean I am going to this week. Or make a start on it. Going to the scrapyard tomorrow for a short piece of pipe. I will take pics of progress. :D

are there any pics of Venture's snorkle anywhere?

very nice and west mids 4x4 are just round the corner from me, i may pop in and see them :thumb2

My very 'umble opinion......99.9% of all snorkels fitted today on road-going vehicles are a complete and utter bloody waste of time and money.

If you are planning to wade in three feet of water or more (are you? seriously?) then its going to be pissing in your doors, through the gearstick and various other orifices after the first 18 inches or so.......lovely.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself.....will I? :kissy:thumbs

Damn it, he's right again :doh ish.
I've been very surprised how little water does come in actually. I've only ever been bonnet deep in the water and it's proper scary too:eek: I've got no carpets in mine so it's easy to spot any dampness. The seals appear very good on the Nissan, which in itself is a problem, as the car tends to float and so loose grip on the bottom:augie No such issues for the landies though :lol

I went through a ford, So deep the maverick started floating. Water was going over the bonnet, I was very lucky I didn't suck water into the engine.

No water came into the vehicle.

Better to have then have not.

are you hinting at they let water in?

Well put it this way, every time you see a landie come out from water crossing, what's the first thing the driver does?:nenau
Opens the door to let all the water out :lol

what about the exhaust is that a problem if u in water bonnet deep:confused:

Another good point 'son' - I would agree the Terrano in good condition is pretty well sealed usually. Pocket money this week then? LOL

I remember my brother getting stuck in a fast flowing deep ford near Monmouth in a Hilux which was floating enough so it couldn't get traction on the gravel bottom, nor could we weigh it down enough....luckily he had a hi-lift jack in the back so we had to jack it, and crawl about underwater and find enough boulders to stick underneath the wheels to get out....took a scary half hour, especially as we had two of my kids on the back hanging on to the rollbar for dear life but loving every minute! LOL

And of course, I'd also say to anyone who drives into a watercourse without knowing exactly how deep it is.....you get what you deserve! :doh

And in final response to 'do I need a snorkel' I've driven through floods 2-3 times with water washing over the bonnet and into the scoop - with a K&N induction kit fitted......and no problem. All I've ever had is one teeny weeny starting problem after a thorough bonnet washing on Strata Florida which was sorted in seconds with a squirt of Makeitfits 'SYB'.

I proved it to Pete & it runs better with the induction kit :D :thumb2
