Snorkel on Maverick.

Ok, my quest to fit the D22 snorkel to a Maverick is all most finished. The last part to do is connect it to the air box. I need some 80mm steel tube to weld to the airbox but can not find any. :doh
I can get some made at £30 but dont want to spend that kind of cash if i can source some. :naughty
What did others use when they did it.

Get the next size up tube/pipe and slice it down the middle. Overlap it and shrink to size, clamp and weld it back up, simples :thumbs

Are there any readily available snorkels for the Maverick that will just "bolt on" or is it not as easy at that

Not as easy as that, do a search on the forum

Kamsin, You don't have to weld it to the box. Me and pete just used rivets and loads of sealent like tigerseal.

Yes i have seen the ones you did. I wanted to weld it though for a better fit but im strugling to get any. If i end up using plastic guttering then i will do it your way as well.

Its really peeing me off that i can not find any. Not found any a bit bigger either Pete.

My local blacksmith has loads of tube in 10mm increments ie 80, 90,100mm diam. Offcuts a £1 :sly
Move to the sticks mate :lol
