hi some info needed please terrano 2.7 diesel lots of power but has started to smoke is this a egr valve problem cheers paul sorry forgot to add could oil be burning thru turbo

Not sure on the EGR valve bit but I had a problem with the Nissan crank case breather system when the factory oil catch tanks valve pack up & was letting oil into the induction system which lead to oil in the turbo & intercooler. Fitted another oil catch tank off ebay & that prob was fixed :wink:

There is a possibility it could be you egr valve, will only take a couple of mins to do the mod in the downloads to rule it out of the equation.

whats the EGR valve Toolbox? whats it um DO??

EGR = Exhaust Gas Re-circulation, Zippy


It’s a valve that opens at low revs and re-circulates some of the exhaust gas in to the inlet manifold; this has the effect of reducing the combustion temperature and in turn reduces nitrogen oxide emissions.
It’s not essential to the running of the engine and some don’t have it, but it can cause many problems.
