Anyone noticed this?

My speedo is the normal speed out as per others compared to a sat nav, but what I did notice the other day is that the trip seems to be way out. I went from Ipswich to Bury St. Edmunds and back, the mileage I roughly know. Zeroed the trip at the start and at the end the trip was no where near the mileage I expected.

Your thoughts :nenau

With standard sized tyres they always over read by 10% but once you fit 31" tyres the speedo over reading drops down to about 2%

I re-set the trip meter everyday, and it was always fine. Then one day, it was about 10 miles under at the end of the day. It was fine again for a while, then did it again. Since then I have discovered that sometimes when you do a reset, the first zero (Hundreds) does not properly centre, and is just slightly low. It seems that when this happens the trip counter does not count up until something, a bump I guess, causes it to catch, and then it is fine.

The trouble is, I don't normally notice it until it is too late, and like you say, the trip mileage does not add up to the odometer mileage.

I have started to try and keep an eye out, and so far, I think it is only if the previous days mileage is fairly high, and presumable gone over 100 miles.
