Slow Engine trurn over and starting

Hi all, this is my first post even though I have been a member for the past year and owned my truck (Ford Maverick 2.7 TD SWB) for 2. My issue is starting the engine turns over very slow and eventually starts. I have replaced the battery recently as a cell gone and the amp were low. Any ideas on where to start looking would be appreciated.:nenau

Loose connections on the starter motor - can be accessed through the wheel arch on drivers side by removing wheel and plastic trim

Loose or Cracked Battery Terminals - Check the clamps onto the battery and copper grease while you are there

Engine Earth Strap - Again check for corrosion and copper grease

If that fails it's likely that the starter has died itself and time to replace

You can troubleshoot a bit with some jump leads just be very careful to short them our or turn the starter over with the car in gear.

For a quick inspection of the starter connections you can also go from above in the engine bay

If the cables are fine I would say starter motor, think this is quite common on them.

If you have a new battery and connections are all good then 100% its the starter motor. Dont get a cheapo one if your keeping it as they don't last very long!!!

try putting a clamp over amp meter if you have one across live if its drawing 400amps its the starter.2.8kw the starter draws so good battery and connections are a must
