Near side front window slow to open or close, often grinds to halt half open.

Is the motor/mechanism shot, or would any points benefit from lubrication.

Any serviceable parts.

Get someone to press up and down buttons whilst you heavily spray channels.

I lube the windows often :thumb2

Mine had nearly packed up before i used silicon spray :D

If you don't care about a little mess you can heavily spray the whole window whilst going up and down, gets all nooks and crannies :D

Jet wash will slowly eliminate the lube tho :doh

Mine get very slow at times but once sprayed with silicon spray they speed up again:D that reminds me must do them again:augie

Mine was like this first bit of good weather this year tried to open and stuck half war down. A bit of help up and down from her indoors and it freed up.a bit more use and now its fine. I think they just seize up in the winter when there not opened that often.

Yeah this too :D

I think if you really wanna get in the nooks well it's a two person job, so spray away from inside and outside (door open) whilst someone is working the motor :thumb2

I think its just the NSF mechanism is pants! Cos mines just the same and Clivvy once told me his was the same. My old truck gets lubed regular and hasnt suffered the same. This one has been lubed loads but not freed up so it will need removing to be cleaned.

just read first five posts, on the list, nsf also slow up halfway and fine rest of way but ok down.

also in new thread, my nsr just stopped going up. on all switches. goes down ok with both switches just not up. had door panel off and reversed the white blue to green blue wires to motor and window went up with down press. switch but which one or both. edd china had to do both on the audi tt they tided up as passenger window didn't work. i've proven its not motor or sticking by reversing wiring to motor. sorry to hijack thread lol

Oh baby jeebus help me.

Get a spray can with a spray tube and spray away, make a mess and work it in.

If it still doesent work come back and I will apologise :D

I had these exact symptoms...

I use the el cheapo car plastic shine stuff from places like the £1 shops - they are silicone but much cheaper than if you go for something labelled Silicone Spray.

I used to use wd40 with that silly red plastic straw type thing .... seemed to work very well , sometimes leaves a bit of a mess on the glass if you are a bit enthusiastic :doh

So how much are they then...:doh ?

Agreed, lube the glass channels as a first choice, but it can also be lube/corrosion problems with drive cable in the loop, door card off sorts this, Rick

Last time I bought one (about 3 years ago) twas £4.99 from Maplin.

On the subject of Maplin, went there recently for a can of compressed air, small one £7.99, large £9.99  Any one know of a source at a sensible price?
