A few months ago, it felt like the clutch was spinning as I accelerated up a hill.
I took it easy, then all was ok.
The other day it was slipping at about 30mph, when I accelerated in 3rd or 4th,slipped from 2 k revs till it hit 3 k revs?

When I got home, at a standstill I put it in fifth with the handbrake on, and tried to pull away, engine stalled, as I was told it should if clutch is ok.

Going away at the weekend in the caravan, don't fancy it going on me....
Any ideas ????

not sure you did the test properly, OK 5th gear foot on clutch, full revs on throttle, slip foot off clutch, should stall engine in a few seconds, if not clutch failed test and is in need of attention, but with care can last a few hundred miles with care, Rick

Yea did the full revs mate, been looking about on here, and this master cylinder thingy keeps coming up?

check your pedal is returning maybe, if it is intermittent. maybe get some lube down around the pedals/springs? a true slipping clutch normally slips all the time from what i have personally experienced, tho you can drive carefully as previously said and get some more miles out of it. cheers, mike.

I had a friend who had slipping clutch turned out to be non return valve in master cylinder.

Slave on bell housing under load even when no pressure was on clutch pedal.

Did not happen every time, opening bleed valve on slave sorted it for a few days or few minutes

I took to my mates garage yesterday, never slipped once on the way, or while he tested it!

Typical....

He had a look underneath, nothing out the ordinary,

Slipped again today, same thing ,3rd gear 30mph, spins from 2k to 3 k, then bites again???? Wierd

Tried opening the valve, even changed the fluid, still no joy!
