Hi all went for a play today, and bearing in mind I now have a road going motor to play in I am much more careful where I go, biggest problem is the width of this thing, so having walked the route first to make sure no narrow tree sections, here we go, incidentally Dave has already done a front shaft on my old motor so he is now confined to the easier bits.

To the left is a big deep drop and narrow trees, to the right is a drop into deep rutted section, I now need to turn on this crown without sliding over the edge,

Made the turn and dropped down into this with front wheels off the ground, so winch being deployed

Front wheels off the ground again, you will notice I have some nice new equipment, this is because I sold most of the other with the motor, and as I intend doing winching to the extreme I wanted reliable kit

But rear needs pulling over to stop damage to OS sill, so 4 shackles, 2 blocks and 3 straps for this little wince challenge, and Dave is stuck too

Out of the mire, took just over an hour to sort that little exercise, but had a good day, the dash cam footage is all there but will be a while I think sorting it all out, will post a link or two when it is done, Rick

Top picks Rick.
I couldn't put my truck through that:bow
You are a brave man:thumb2
Plus you know what you are doing which helps:lol

Nice bit of technical winching is great, challenging and enjoyable and somehow a little relaxing :thumb2

Yep very relaxing except for the stomping through mud which is now very tiring, my biggest winch challenge was in the early 70's a 45 ton mobile crane up to it's axles but with the help of a Drott dozer and a very big Oak tree we got him out, Rick

My cousin hired a guy with a Drott the other week, that thing makes an awesome sound :D

Joining clips

Hi all I need some help, as I stated I have dash cam vid of Slindon, but it is very many short clips, how on earth do I join the ones I want together? Rick

No help on the vid clips but may I suggest you move the solenoid pack high up in the engine bay ;)
Even if it's waterproof type it'll last longer :D
Looking good though :clap

Thank's Pete, will look at that, Rick

Oh and going to get some impressive sills (rock sliders made up) 5mm SS in triangle section, Rick

Are you going to cut out the floor/sill section ? I'm going to and it'll create loads more clearance to almost door ht.:)
