hi guys is anyone going to slindon on sunday will be good to put faces to names also total off road mag are suposed to be there taking photos for the mag

I will be there, Black SWB MAV with fans in the rear door, may not be doing too much mud stuff though as taking grand daughter who wants driving lessons so going to teach her clutch control in some quiet flat areas, prior to her paying for on road stuff, Rick

Yes that is it, and yes as well there are easy routes as well as hard, if you take a road going motor steer clear of the water, it wears rear brakes at an alarming rate and clogs rads, it is not water but thick soup, Rick

:lol:lol Yes, I have already been on the wrong end of sandy mud soup in my Vitara days... cooked the head on the way home... Then when I got home, jet washed the rad off, and bent all the fins over, so had to have a new rad as well...

Expensive learning curve that was.:(

That is how we all learn, are you coming tomorrow, Rick

Great hope to see you there, you got my number, but will not be there till around 11am or so, Rick

Really tempted but nearly 2 hour drive for me. Another time maybe

Brian

Well it is a 1.5 hour drive for me with the car and trailer, well worth it, so go on come along, the weather looks to be good, so will be a really good day, I will even let you drive my truck on some of the bad bits, Rick

we had a good day at Slindon today, met Ginge007 for the first time, and also lazy-ferret again, sorry guys I was not able to devote more time with you, would have been great but as you know I had my grand daughter with me to learn clutch control etc before she starts proper lessons, and now having seen what she can do needed to devote most of my time with her, have to say after I directed her to a couple of large rutted short inclines and with guidance she made them, it has given her more confidence which is important, Rick

We had a great day... I was very pleasantly surprised what an old overweight road going oil burner could do.. the truck was pretty impressive as well...:lol

I really did not think the T2 would be able to live up to my fun days of the past in my Vitara's and SJ's, but although we stuck mainly to the white routes, we did several ups and downs where I really expected us not to make it, and to be honest was almost disappointed just how easy the T2 made them look.

Suz could not believe the hills we crawled down, in total controlled slow speed with no feet on the pedals, and how many we could go up like that as well.

She did get a rude awakening when we got cross axled right at the top of one such hill, and I got her into the driving seat, then got behind the car, and once she had it in 1st, low, and no feet on the pedals, put my shoulder under the back bumper, and gave a good push. She then drove down the hill that only moments earlier was saying she was not sure she even wanted to be a passenger on. Mind you, trying to get the car back from her after that was not so easy.

It was a good day, and nice to meet Ginge007 and of course Rick.

Hope you get your mats dry Ginge...:lol

You took the rear arb off yet lazy ?

Makes loads of difference

Not on this one... we need it more as a road going tug for the caravan, so that has to take priority over the joys of off roading.:(

Actually, to be fair the boss was so impressed with the old gal today, she is talking about getting a short wheel base as a fun car, so we can make mods to it, so if we find one at the right price, I will be asking of all the easy mods...:lol
