£$%^ing capless sidelight bulbs!!! Is there an easy way to fit these awkward buggers on a 96 2.7TD? From what I can see I will need to remove the front grille, and the headlights to get at the sodding stupid things. Wouldn't mind if I ever used them but as the nice test centre man wants them working I will have to fit the damn things. I can remove the rear of the fitting but the front bit that holds the bulb is to small to get a good grip on. It is probably a twist fit but which way to untwist as I will need to use a small pliers and don't want to break it. HELP!!!!:(

you got square head lights??

on the round headlights they are below the main bulb holder, fiddly to get at, but no need to remove all that lot surley..

Even led ones need to be fitted and that's the problem.:(

Do you have an owner's manual? Don't know which lights your talking about. Only front corner lights I have on 00 model are indicators.

The sidelight bulbs go in a holder in the main headlight, the problem is getting at the damn things without removing grille, headlights etc. I will probably end up doing that anyway, just thought I'd try the smart people here before doing it the hard way LOL

Afraid I'm not one of the smart people here. Your lights are set-up different to mine so I don't have a clue.

if you look at the back of the headlight on the square ones, ( same as mine) there are some rubber caps, one is for the main and dipped lamp, the other is for the sidelight...... remove the rubber cover and that will expose the housing, twist/rotate clockwise(I think) and it pops out in your hand....... you can then remove the bulb.......

it is that easy mate i did mine in around 5 mins they are located on the outer side of the main dip bulbs, i will take a pic a post it up tomorrow if that helps any mate.:thumb2

Thanks for all the help, sidelights now working. Passenger side shock replaced, passenger side caliper replaced, new pads on front and only passenger side trailing arm bushing to be replaced (hopefully tomorrow) and re test asap after that. Good to have friends on here who know stuff and friends close by who can use spanners. Result.:clap:clap:clap

I thought you had a MkIII or IV? Liams square headlight is the old MkI I think you'll find, pre-round headlight....:)
