I am looking to get some side steps as the jeep looks plain without them and was wondering if the holes are there to bolt the steps too

Mine are mounted with brackets. I only know cos I'm trying to remove them, but the bolts are proper stuck. So if you have some side steps with the brackets then the holes should be there for them (or so I would logically assume) :)

jeep ??????

:lol:lol Wrong forum...:lol

Sorry on my terrano :lol

side steps are easy to put on or remove on the T2, holes are there BUT if it had them previously and they were removed odds are that the bolts sheared when they were removed, the brackets have little lugs on them that slot into extra holes on the chassis this aids in fixing the bolts in place, but be warned, i found the side steps help to keep the wet mud etc. against the sills and aided the tin worm in its rampage of war upon them.

I dare say you don't use them to climb aboard. And they are just summat else to hinder you in rocky situations.

Dammit... all this talk of sidesteps has me thinking about taking mine off now, 'specially as the nearside one is looking so battered... also having checked tonight I reckon the sill protection is marginal :nenau

they took a big battering in wales.did the hit your sill?
without them there wouldn't of been an issue....

Will do bud, gonna fit the roof rack this weekend too! :thumbs

Yeh the offside one is right up against the sill and has bent in the edge very slightly (just at the edge of the panel) but it won't be noticeable once the steps are off - it's only now that the front mudflaps are off that the bend in the step is noticeable to the casual eye.

Now that is a sound bit of info:thumbs

TBH i did think of taking mine off. After my last pay n play day,i did damage both sides. But i repaired them both.because the s.w.b wife needs the one on her side to climb into the truck.Would look daft with just one.
