Owing to my wifes work situation, we have been in the rather strange and very lucky position to have 2 x 2 week holidays within 6 weeks, so have not been around much over the last 2 months...
Luckily the car has been as good as gold, and not only happily towed our caravan, but taken us on some great days out into the back waters of South West Wales. The Caravan on the other hand had a bit of a strop, and has resulted in us having to do a several running repairs. Luckily, being a hands on guy, and always travelling with my tool box, they were just minor annoyances, rather than issues.
Currently though, I have the built in cooker out on the bench, as it decided to self destruct on the journey home. Basically, we found a bolt last year, and although I had a good look around, I had no idea where it had came from. As it turned out, it was actually a pretty crucial bolt, but was impossible to see with the cooker in situe, and almost as hard to see even with the cooker out. The result of the bolt coming out though, meant the main part was hanging from several small pop rivets, which kindly sheared off on our many outings, until it got to the point that it was obvious something was wrong with it. Luckily it lasted until we got back home, as this would not have been a "running repair".
Anyway I thought I would share some pictures of the Trials and Tribulations of camping with ferrets.
They make you have to be inventive with living quarters...
This is their cage, which I made.
Only to find they actually prefer the sock drawer..
Apparently Bournville wanted an extra cushion in the drawer.
but even without the extra cushion, it's still very comfortable.
For the last few days we had ferret fur socks..
Putting things out of their reach can be difficult.
Every ferret needs a bit of Tenby Rock.. Apparently..
Sorting out the ferret washing after the holiday can be a chore...
This is only half of it.
But we do get to spend so much more time with them... And the rewards are so worth it.
