PS best not to take pics while driving (on private land )

Just bin the ash tray and you've got much more room for wires etc :thumbs
Top of my dash has CB speaker and white van man papers and receipts :lol

Yeah the ash tray is broken In my t2 so I don't Need to remove it lol! :D

Does it actually serve a purpose or is it a butch gadget for gadgets sake?

I have to be honest, never found the need for one :nenau

For one what boss? :augie
The gauges in mine are Turbo boost, EGT and oil pressure. Good to know what's happening with extra boost, extra chip power (Tunit), plus LPG :naughty

One of my friends just put one in his VW panel van. It's always loaded up to the roof :augie Any road up, it's faster now and uses less juice (if you try) but mainly it's Broody Awesome FUN :clap:thumbs:cool:

nice one Ryan, great ideas for mounting. I have to say, I would still be tempted to mount them top of dash, where they would have been on the Shogun.

I found my dials and gizmos quite handy in my Fourtrak, so that I knew how close i was to the limit before I flopped over! Not sure they will be as handy in a T2, they are way more stable!

Cheers Clive, I think that's where I'll mount them. Had a look on the Mitsubishi shogun/pajero Foum and found i need a geomagnetic compass which is about the size of a relay and sits behind the dials ontop of the dash. Just under the wind screen:D

So you find the T2 more stable than a Fourtrak. That's good to know. I thought the Fourtrak was very competent offroad, as far as Japanese vehicles go. Researching on the web has told me that they normally have a bad problem with rust though.

Many a welsh farmer will tell you how good the Fourtrak was in its day - in fact still shedloads of 'em going around here.

more stable ON ROAD!!! thats for sure!

as for off road, Fourtrak is superb, much more basic underneath though which helps, but the T2 is way better in my opinion offroad because not only do you get very similar capabilities, its also more comfortable!

I do miss my Fourtrak, but i dont miss how scary it was at anything over 40 mph, used to tilt like a good un-hence the handy gauges!

Fourtraks no worse than a Discrovery or a T2 for rust tbh. Usual places, sills, arches, cross members, but the trucks are so basic, repairs are so easy. I would have another one, but ONLY as a toy for around town and off road.

I like the four track, my friend has got one but I still prefer T2s. T2s are comfyer there more like a car to drive and Have a nicer interior as the fourtrak dash has been made with "boxy styling" in mind.
