Hi all - I bought an 03 plate Terrano 2 last December - 2.7tdi - with only 23000 on the clock. I'm only driving about 3000 miles a year using is a second motor and for light towing.

I'm wondering what servicing should be done - what MUST be done and what would be SUGGESTED to be done !!

Obviously an oil and filter change, but what about the fuel filter and air filter - yearly or mileage based?

What about gear/transfer box oils - and diff oils (how do I know if its got a rear LSD?

MOST IMPORTANTLY - what about camshaft and fuel pump drive belts - has it got them? If so when should they be changed?

I don't like the idea of being charged main dealer prices for someone checking water levels and oiling hinges, I'll do these myself - but guidance on the previous questions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Greylensman 1st off you'll be glad to hear there is no cam belt to change as the 2.7 engine is gear drive :p Yes you will have a LSD in your rear axel as they all have  The best bit is that T2's are quiet easy to work on so you'll have no probs servicing it your self  As for the oil spec's these can be found on the site

My advise would be to change the fuel filter as well, you do stand a chance of water build up in the fuel tank from condensation if the tank is not kept full and changing the filter will eliminate any possibility of any contamination getting to the injection pump, not as important to change the gearbox and axle oils every year at such low mileage.
