Servicing, MPG and Cooking Oil !! Questions,Questions !!

Hi there everybody,

Its been a while since I have visited the forum but so far my Nissan Patrol 3.0 GR has been brilliant, I know its got 103k on the clock but its performed well dragging the family, dog and mother around..

First question.. I live in Sandbach,Cheshire and wanted to know if anyone knew of a diesel specialist as I feel I might need it servicing before too long

Second question, I only get about 23mpg ( and I dont drive like mad ) but I wondered if anyone has any advice on how to improve the MPG through mechanical or additives etc..

And Finally..Cooking Oil.. is the jury still out on whether my 1992 model could use it or is the Answer NO NO

P.S. If anyone wants insurance my renewal came back as £380 so I searched on the web and found Liverpool Victoria and got it fully comp incl protection for £180 !!

The engine is of an old enough design that it probably isn't fussy about fuel. Impossible to say ya or nay use it or don't but something to point out; current price of SVO is about £1 per litre, so the cost difference isn't great enough to make using it worthwhile, especially in anything less than a 50:50 mixture.
