Where's the best place to get service items, i.e. Oil Filter, fuel filter, oil etc

Hi matey, I just get a threesome kit from eBay.
Because I change mine on average twice a year, I don't mind getting them from the bay.
Still good brands though.
Mahle, Blue Print, Fiamm etc.

I always use my local motor factors, Use them or lose them is my way of thinking, if you do have a problem then not only are they LOCAL but can give them a chance to change product/supplier if they get an undue number of complaints on a product, Rick

I'm with Rick, if you go there often enough, they even give you discount, I get 20 to 40% depending on what I buy. If they don't have it in stock, its there next day, and sometimes later in the same day. On the occasions there have been 2 items listed they have given me both, and I returned the ones that were not correct...

You can't get online service like that, so as Rick says, use them or loose them.

I agree with previous postings I use a local car parts supplier in the village "Romac" and go for Mahle, Blue Print etc. I even buy Nissan sometimes when they have an oil and filter offer.

I especially like our local supplier for stuff like brake hoses they have a brilliant catalog showing all the different types of unions and lengths.

I just take off the hose I want show it them and usually same or next day I have the part at a fair price and good quality.

Can't agree with Rick more!!!!

All I'd say though is avoid anything with the brand name "Boschi" on it, that extra "I" is a cheeky marketing ploy if you ask me but their products are junk!!

Yep I have posted before about the Boschi Oil filter that came with my old r3mR that was supplied from Milner Off Road !

When I fitted it the oil light took an age to go out and the drain back valve was u/s. I binned the fuel fileter of the same brand and fitted Mahle.

I don't get discount at my local shop. I used to at the closest one (Elty will know which one). It's now crap, he's supposed to be a BMW parts specialist, my old MG had a BMW diesel lump. He couldn't even give me the correct oil filter. The one he supplied was around 5mm too long (paper type), I didn't pick up on it until I removed it to change the oil again later on & it was compressed.
When Carl ran it as R&R, I couldn't fault him & always got trade discount

Now I just buy bulk of eBay & save a few quid.

Most decent oils have them in the mix it's part of what seperates the cheap from the expensive IMHO.

Just been chatting to a mate and remembered another dodgy brand for Terrano service items, anyone used FujiToyo crap? Not to be confused with Toyo, they make fantastic quality parts, I'm especially impressed with their Propshaft UJ's

I was told by Cummins that viscosity improvers and additives are the first to break down in oils, so a straight oil is far better, Rick

Yeah I know the one you mean.
I use Romac at Ripley or head down to PCS at claycross for most of my stuff now.
