I used to use Castrol Mineral for diesels, but for the last 3 oil changes I have used Castrol 10-40 semi synthetic.

It gets changed every year whether it needs it or not, as the old girl does less than 6k per year.

I have never used fully synthetic, too expensive and not required.

The last Oil I bought ready for the next oil change(s) was from Asda and really cheap. So I bought 12 litres.

cheers for that Rustic didnt think of Asda other half works for Wincanton who Asda own and we get 10% off will have a look

it seems quieter smoother and all round happier on the mineral oil, the synthetic was a big mistake! oddly, in trade quantise (205 litre drums), synthetic is now the cheap option. Some new car manufacturers are now specifying mineral oil at services - apparently it's better :thumb2
