got local technician in mind, just like to compare prices

iirc for briggies minstral it was about £40 for the headgasket

i got mine free but paid £150 for the work to be done and then paid about £80 fuel and £21 for a nights stay

change your rad cap. I thought my head gasket had gone - I had exactly the same symptoms - and popped two rads before changing the rad cap, and it's behaved itself ever since.
