Hi all, I know one or two people have fitted second batteries in their Terranos. Can anyone please post photos and ideas on fitting. Got the great spot behind ns headlamp. Spoken to Direct Line and as long as they are aware of the battery then there is no extra cost involved:thumb2

Will you set it up as an aux battery?
I'm at the moment wiring up a "stand alone" electric system in the car to be connected to the aux battery. Right now it's connected in parallel but will sort that out as soon as possible.
Can post some pictures in the evening!

I am away from home at the moment, so using a tablet/phone, and haven't got the hang of links, but I have afer pictures on my photobucket account of my dual battery set up.

In my case the extras, like spots, extra interior lights, sockets, hazard beacons etc, all run off the second bat, which is mounted behind the n/s headlight.

Running it as an auxiliary battery using a split charge relay. Wanting to use the battery in a similar way to LazyFerrret.

The wiring is not the problem. Just wanting ideas about mounting it in the engine bay.

The only space that I can see is as others have said, behind the n/s headlight. I have the washer bottle there.
The only other place I can think of is a building a box under one or the other front seat.

Yeah mine is the earlier model with the washer bottle under the os wing so bags of space behind ns headlamp. Especially since mine has a cone air filter so no air intake down the inner wing.

I had a small steel plate from a job, that had upturned edges, so it was a perfect battery base, so I made a simple bracket to support it, using some of the pre formed threaded holes.
Here is a pic of it fitted.
fifth attempt to load pic...
Give up... it says I have already uploaded it once...

Well this is where it was uploaded.... but was upside down lol....
