hi all . I know this is a mod but I just would like to know . is it possible to change the 2 front seat for seat from another car with a high back and that can be lowered to the ground as I can't get the head rest up high enough and I find the seat is to high off the floor ? this is for my 2000 t2

probably, will need new mounting brackets :)

Not sure you will be able to get the seats much lower to the floor. The way most replacement seats work, is you keep the unique mounting for your car which is designed to bolt correctly to the floor, and sit level, taking into account any lumps and bumps in the floor pan, and then the frame on the replacement seat bolts to that mounting, the reason the T2's mounting is so high, is it has the up and down adjustment built in.

Fitting another seat is easy enough, there are a few threads on here where people have fitted other car seats, but I think most will have used the original mounting frame, so that would not really help you...

Just as a matter of interest, how tall are you, as I am 6'1", and the car has tones of head room for taller than me.

anything is possible

but as said the ideal way is to keep the original bracket, so to have it lower you may need to use a seat with a slimmer bottom but this might not be as comfy.

i am 5"10 but I have short legs and a long body 27inch inside leg so that's 3"7 of body and I keep smacking my head as I get in . I got to duck my head in frist and then climb in and use the centre rest to side in . lol

If your 2000is the same seat type as the pre 99 versions then you must keep the original mounting points as they form the seat belt anchor, and do not forget any seat you use must have a correct belt connector for your belt, any alterations to this and you will have to get it verified by VOSA, Rick
