Hi guys and girls;), this has been going on for ages but I just remembered to ask

My water system in my terrano never seems to be good, back in 2011 when the rad blew, the water 'to put it simply' was like diarrhea  so flushed it out and fitted new rad, anyways, that was then, I've still got that problem, the water after a month or so starts to turn a slightly rusty colour, not really bad, just slightly, no matter how many times I flush the system, it's still like this after about a month, could it be the matrix? I hope it is as I'm planing to install my new one, or could it be more serious?

The heater matrix is definatly passed it as the heater isn't really warm and smoke can come through the vents and under the dash when towing. quite creepy:doh:lol

water and metal will rust/corrode you must use a corrosion inhibitor all year round, best is red/pink at around £15 per 5 ltr inc vat from motor factors, Rick

I thought I read some where that red/pink antifreeze is not good for older engines, not sure why, but possibly that it attacks the internal.
Like I said, not sure about it, I will try and find where I read it :)

no I am 65 but plumbing and car trade ran side by side, I actually started engineering when I was 4 years old, turned a taper on my dads lathe stood on a box, if you know how to do this feeding traverse and cross feed at the same time you will know this is no easy job, I actually remember doing it but only know my age from talking to dad much latter, Rick
