Just need some guidance - the weather here has gone very wintery and we have shed loads of snow. So I spend most of my day running round in 4WD. However on the main roads there may be tram-tracks showing down to the dry asphalt surface. Now we all know you shouldn't drive in 4WD on a grippy surface, and I definitely don't need a transfer box / diff problem, so how far can you go before you risk wind up ? And if I drift onto the snow divide every few hundred yards will this de-stress the diff ?? What do folks do on wildly differing surfaces. At the moment I am doing a lot of shifting

i had same prob last year snow lots of it & i used mine on & off to get me to work but after doing my 12hr shift i didnt realise at the time 6am i drove all the way home on dry roads in 4wd all the bloody 26 mile ! aaaaaargh i know that was a no no but forgot it was in 4wd tired & dark i drove off but no damage done thankfully ! all still works well 5,000 miles later
