Routine checks for clonk at front?

Morning chaps and chappets,

Over the last week rarely we have been getting a clonk from the front whilst on the move, it seems to occur during a corner/turning, usually when the truck is leaning a bit.

I am going to look under in a bit (just I'm ill at the mo)

Any routine things to check.

I remember rick pointing out on two occasions that my after market anti roll bars at the front kept working their way loose last time we tightened em up soooo much, steering components recently changed too but I don't see that being an issue.

Also want full pre checks before off-road mayhem next weekend :sly

Clonking noises

When I bought my Terrano R3mr (PR 50) there was a clonking most obvious when reversing off my mates driveway that is pretty steep and as I locked over it would clonk once. Rarely did it when driving forwards onto the drive. The Trader I bought it off said it was nothing to worry about and called it coil binding saying it was common on Range Rovers too !

Anyways as the R3mr has coil spring suspension I decided to do some serious Waxoyl treatment around the top and bottom of where the coil springs sit and after about three lots of treatment it stopped and never did it again !

I assume yours is torsion bar suspension so I would suspect front ARB clamps or drop links if you have them.

If your ARB was standard I would of said check the links.

Nothing come loose like the battery is there?

ARB or ball joints most common for the clunk on mine.

I've seen this before, it happens to just a specific type of person and is caused by a loose nut holding the steering wheel!!!

I'm no where near full lock, only does it sometimes, can feel.it through the steering too :thumb2

Well I think it's the one on the upper arms?

No idea how to check em.
