After a lot of deliberation I finally decided on the Howling Moon RTT for the simple reason that it has a heavier canvas than the cheaper Chinese tents, I would think that it has a better build quality than the Chineses jobbies too.
I think it's fair to say that it'll go from this.

To this in 5-10 minutes.

I was hoping to have a few minutes to myself playing with the tent and the camera. Unfortunately everyone wanted a chat, and I couldn't not allow the interested have a good look at it. And there were thumbs up from everyone.
I'm impressed with the build quality, it seemed quite stable in the breeze today. The only odd bit is the floating sensation as the vehicle suspension reacts to the movement upsatairs. With the windows closed, it's proper dark inside, so no more sleep depravation in the summer. The mattress seems to be thick enough for a good night's sleep/ There are six windows for when you want a view or more light inside and the overhang is plenty for the cooking area.
Roofrack was bespoke from SDV in Clitheroe, who did a top job.
Now to look for a 3.6m awning to cover the side of the vehicle from tent to front door.
Am I happy with it?
Absobloodylutely! :clap
Now to look at the suspension upgrade. :doh

Dead jealous :thumbs

Have you got an awning thing to zip around rear of vehicle and enclose the steps. I dare not ask the price of that bit of kit but it look brilliant.

There is an annexe for the rear. I haven't tried it yet
When's the next meet? :naughty

That looks awesome man!

Really want one of those! :bow:bow:bow

I just watched a video of someone who did a wild camp on Kinder in all that snow we had recently, pity we couldn’t get our trucks up there :lol

Went for a play and set up the annexe.

I thought it was going to be the lightweight nylon one, but it's the extremely heavy canvas one which needs some manhandling to install. Once up, it's brilliant. Access to the rear of the vehicle for cooking, side doors and the whole rear side opens to make an awning.
And we all know how much I like an awning. :)

I really am impressed with this piece of kit.

Even more jealous now than I was before but I can’t see Mrs letting me have one really.
Superb piece of kit you deserve it mate:thumbs

That's bigger than I thought it would be!
Looks great does that:thumb2

Cheers Jim,
Does this mean that I've got to take it over to South Africa? Or Botswana? Or.....?
