you can fit roof rails but they don't carry much weight, plus you have toi fork out for bars as well.

Get Thule bars and the right set of feet....I'm assuming its a LWB?

yes it a LWB thinking of fitting a roof tent:eek:

Well definitely no roof rails then - when fitted with bars they only carry about 75lbs or something stupid.

As a minimum you'd want the Thule setup but not sure if a roof tent has any special requirements or whether it can fit to any old roof bars....

The reason I asked about the wheelbase is that SWB doesn't have enough room to fit Thules - you need two doors.

is that 70kg per bar? as me and er in doors both weigh about 11 stone each on a good day.

Right then will have to look out for some thule bars then, thanks a lot chaps for all your input.Laurie.:thumbs

But be careful - I've carried some seriously heavy loads of 4m timber on my Thules but you may find they don't formally meet the weight requirements of a two-person tent.....which anyway might need fixing direct to the roof.

MIght be a lot cheaper to stick a sheet of 8x4 ply on the bars and put a pop-up tent on it LOL

the simple thing to do is just sleep in the t2:doh thats what i did at that caravan park in nottingham:clap:rolleyes::lol:lol

:lol:lol. Yep:thumb2. I could even hear him when I was in my t2 and he was in the tent. The t2s need more sound deadening!! I was getting tempted to drive to the other end of the caravan park:doh

Now that's a question I was going to ask...

Can an adult sleep in the back of a LWB Terrano, with the third row removed and the second row folded forward?

I am 5' 11"

There must be loads of room as I can kip in the back of my SWB and the front seats tilted forward and about 8 pints :lol

i'd say so, i am about 6' and if you put the front seats as far forward as thay'll go and put the back rests down flat "with head rests removed", it forms quite a good bed. if the 3dr row is removed, there will be more space but i was ok-ish with the 3rd row in.:thumb2:thumb2 sleeping in a lwb is comfyer than in a swb:doh

Yes, I don't even think you could lay flat corner to corner. You would have to adopt a foetal position.

Probably why there are so many LWB around, they are purchased for "Courting".
