What life span would you expect from roof bars. When I bought my first Terrano back in 2002 I got a pair of genuine Nissan bars to fit my roof rails, made by Thule. They’ve lived on top of my truck ever since in rain shine and snow and whatever else the british weather can throw at them. Removed them from one truck to put on my other tonight and decided they’re buggered. Not sure I’ve had my money’s worth :lol
They’ve lasted really well and carried alsorts of stuff and been every where with us. So looking for replacements but most do not wrap all the way around the roof rails but instead most these days seem to just clamp on to the roof rails. I think the older style like mine were a lot better fit and seem to give me a sense of security.
If anyone has a set they wish to part with drop me a line.

Think 16 years is a great life span when they’ve been been on the roof all the time. :clap

I think 16 years for that sort of product is remarkable, given they have never been removed and stored in the dry for long periods, Rick

I think they’ve done bloody well just wish thule hadn’t redesigned them as the older style seem to me that they’ll be more secure.
Unfortunately it’s plastic covers and the screw threaded clamp that are breaking down so welder wouldn’t really fix.
Bought them to go with my first terrano when I bought it as part of the deal, only took them off to fit to the project truck just before the old one got written off.
If I could get another identical set second hand I’d probably buy them without hesitation.
