Hi,

Im looking for a pair of roof bars for my SWB Terrano, do they exist? ive seen LWB ones before

Thanks
John

I've just removed and sold mine off my swb so yes they do exist.

I've fitted a roof rack modified off a Berlingo.

Much better :thumb2

Joda said he found some locally to him, he's probably busy with the angle grinder as we type:thumb2

Hi,

Sorry for the delay! I managed to get a set of commercial roof bars from a berlingo! Will post photos when i get them fitted!

Where is the best place to fit them ? [on the roof!!]

Had a look, but cant see any pre marled holes for fitment, is there already reinforcement in the roof?

Nope just drill the roof. The standard swb ones on mine where fitted with some sort of round nut fixed into the roof.
I fitted alloy spreader plates when I fitted the Berlingo rack as they bend to shape rather than bend the roof.

they need to go on the specific places that the standard bars go as they pick up the reinforcing under, to gain the max 50kg per bar load they need to be fixed to these reinforcement points with spacers up to the roof so that the roof takes little or no load, Rick

Rick,

I fitted them lastnight, i drilled through the cross bars that are screwed and bonded into place, with the tent fitted it all seems pretty solid, will get some photos tonight!

Thanks guys!!
