As I knew I would at some stage, rolled it yesterday (Sunday) at Boxgrove pay and play, had a really good day, not least because the previous outing was when I filled the sump with muddy water and ran the engine for all of 20 minutes with a water/mud oil mix and only shut the engine down when the oil light came on, thought this will mean another engine, but after oil flush and new filter etc she is as good as gold little bit rattly but well good enough for pay and play, only other problem that developed was burnt out the engine management electrics twice, seems the extra load of the fans for engine cooling is just too much, so will make a separate supply for the fans, this pic is where I had to winch off the ridge, but engine was dead here due to burnt electrics so had to get female co driver to undo winch cable after I could coast as could not get to bonnet to do repairs as was, second pic speaks for itself, Rick

Deffo, but forgot the best bit, pulled the motor back wards with me winch and then from a tree (very small) at the side pulled myself back onto the wheels but trapped winch cable in the process so Marshals pulled me back a little way to free it, given time I could have sorted it but we were 15 mins past closing time as it was, still a great day and Sarah, my co driver though it was terrific, Rick

Yes got a bit of reshaping to do with the drivers door, does not shut at the mo, but other wise no issues, even the window fan survived, but after the fuel leakage on to surface water, was more than a little concerned about that as you know it spreads, so the fuel tank will go and a banger style tank will go on the roll cage that will not leak even upside down, and the plus will be the damn tank will not keep hitting the deck, incidentally if I jack up the front torsion bars do you think it will help in situations like the first pic on the ridge, I am thinking the suspension is already on the stops so will make no difference, Rick

If you mean the droop then get some ball joint spacers in there :thumb2

Yeh but I only had another 5ft of scenery before the quarry edge :eek:

Droop is how far down the front will drop down before hitting the bump stops.
So if you put a spacer between the ball joints and the wishbones then droop will be restored . Half way house is to bin the bump stops.:thumbs

Wel atleast you're being safe. Remember, if you're parked at side of road, stick hazards on, even if you're vehicle is on it's side:lol
 
T2 is a light weight truck andif you're in the slop but with hard core below skinnies are good :thumb2

T2 is a light weight truck andif you're in the slop but with hard core below skinnies are good :thumb2

could not say better myself, it is when the mud gets really thick that skinnies are not so good, from what I have seen anyway, no real experience myself as yet, Rick

Probably just need bigger tyres then as you'll only get about 3/4" max with spacers.

on 750 x 16 think that is 31s, no done nothing to suspension or body, but from experience so far and the trail my rear diff leaves I need bigger wheels, Rick

It's the only way out of the mire :sly but you may need a little power boost :sly
