Ripped My Rear Seat

Done summat really annoying today. Whilst putting an ejector seat (yes an ejector seat) in my Terrano today I've ripped the back of one of the rear seats.

Does anyone know if it's possible to stitch the grey fabric on the seats? Trying to work out if it will be easier and neater to find another rear seat instead but not sure if I'll be able to find matching seat.

which one? do you mean the removal fabric on the back?

I guess a upholstery firm might give you a definitive answer jim , failing that post a picture of the fabric and someone might have a spare .

It's the rear seat directly behind the passenger seat, not the third row. It's the back of it that you can see from the boot/third row. Pretty miffed as it's quite a large tear. At the lower seam it is like a plastic strip that you can pull apart so I can get to the back of the fabric.

If I have time tomorrow I'll try and get photo's but too dark outside now.

gotcha - just ask a breaker for the whole piece - it just unclips from the seat.

It's part of the whole seat cover on the back rest part of the seat. Don't know how easy it would be to remove just that section.

Haha, yeah I've had all the giving mother in law a lift jokes too. It's deactivated and was laid on it's side as it's far too tall to site upright. It'd be pretty cool to fit in there though wouldn't it.

easy to remove, but it forms part of the boot carpet. so you can either cut it, or replace the whole thing.

That's confusing... My boot carpet runs under the back seats, on the long wheelbase.

The back of the seats is just a bit of leather/PVC/plastic stuff that appears to be part of the whole back rest.. If the carpet ran up the back of the rear seats, you could not fold them forward out the way...

ah I see, on a swb, the carpet in the boot is part of what fixes onto the back seats-all one piece...!? I had to remove it all once to clean.

Yeah that's the SWB Clivvy. The LWB is separate, think I'm going to have a look around for a replacement seat from a breakers.

So if anyone has any seats from an SE Touring, the cloth is a pale grey with a pinky, redy, orange sort of pattern on them.

Failing that, could you not get some matching/similar automotive carpet and actually cover the rear of the seats. You could use the plastic rivets to fix it on, and it would actually be harder wearing...

Having written this, that may be the answer to my problem as well, I am always paranoid when I have the rear seat back folded down, in case something goes through the seat backing...
