Whats the easiest way of doing this?

I'm going to have the drivers side all in pieces again at some point this week so while I've got the disc off I might as well go the whole hog and replace the boot but.......

is there any way of achieving this without removing the drive shaft from the knuckle?

If your on about the CV boot, there's plenty of advise on here, I know Stinka likes doing these and has a short cut :thumb2

i did consider undoing it at the diff to change my boots, but it,the driveshaft would still have to come out the hub to get clearance i thought? it looked tight! i popped some pics up of the strip down, after you have done it once its a piece of pisc banshee, honest!

Read this whole thread, it's easier to remove the whole shaft and do both boots, will only cost £20 that's £5 for the bail cast one for the outer from Unipart and £15 for the first line inner one from eBay, part numbers are in the thread

OK so while I was removing the shims on my car last night and had the wheel off I tried to fit one of those Bailcast Universal CV Boot kits and I'm not a fan

It didn't bond properly and although cutting correctly to size as per the diagram and matching it up against the old one it didn't fit correctly :doh

So I decided I would try and fit the other solid Bailcast boot that I had so proceeded to remove the upper ball joint and guess what.......... yep even after a whole tin of GT 85 soaking the nuts it snapped the head off :(

I presume this is a new ball joint job? Where's the best place to order one from?
