Hi
My MOT is coming up, so today I started having a look at what would need doing on the body work.
There are holes in both sills, which I could get away with patching, but since both sills have already been patched several times I think it would be better to replace them completely.
I believe that replacement sills are no longer available for the Terrano. But have heard that sills from another car can be made to fit. Does anyone know what car this might be?
Another option would be to replace the sills with box section. Is there any reason not to do this (other than aesthetics)?
edit: I forgot to say it's a SWB model

The front slam panel/radiator support is also very rotten (see pic), to the extent that it would probably be easier to replace the entire front panel, or at least everything below the headlights. Would there be any issues with cutting out and replacing the whole front end (other than getting it all properly aligned)?
Are the slam panels the same for most Terrano's or does it change on the later ones? (mine's a '95 (square headlight)).
Thanks

fo rmot FIBREGLASS is ur friend :augie then get it all welded proper after, thats what i did. also make sure you give your truck a good underseal and check the wheel arches under the carpet i found a dirty great big hole that i couldn't see from under the truck that if left would have let my back seats fall out lol and get some rust treatment stuff, i used summat called vactan, did a very good job and didn't cost the earth and it was self priming

The front ends are the same and just cut one off a non rotten one and splice it on. I had to do that to mine. Got a bit off a scrapper and my best mate welded the bugger on. See my pics :) I just used a ratchet strap to pull the sides together again :sly

Sills can be box sure or just patch it again as it's much easier :thumb2

Didn't somebody mod the sills from a Fiesta successfully once?

EDIT: God I'm just too clever for my own good. T'was member rsaddo who fitted the sills for a MkIII 5-door Fiesta successfully. £13 a pair at the time..... July 2008 to be precise.

It's not fair on the council, the road surface is bad enough already without me ripping it apart :augie At least that's what it feels like in my truck:rolleyes:
I'll better get that rear spoiler on so I can get some more grip
