Just need some reassurance before I replace the rear ARB drop links which look completely goosed to me and m.o.t. is due now.

Is it just a case of undoing the nuts (provided that they aren't rusted on solid) or grinding them off (if they are rusted on solid) ?

Do I need to jack the rear end up in any particular way ?...they aren't load bearing are they chaps?

not as far as I'm aware, like the front you can just crawl under and remove the whole thing (with a bit of brute force as you say!).

You can get droplinks and a polybush set from Milners very cheaply.

Piece of P to do. Two spanners job, assuming not rusted too badly. Squirt a bit WD40 or similar a while before you do the doings:thumbs
One spanner behind the ARB just under the rubber and one spanner t'other side, give it a big heave ,bash your knuckle and bingo :augie

They're not load bearing as such but if you do decide to jack it up to get better access you need to do the same to both sides, otherwise the ARB will be put under tension.

Best bet, jack it up and put axle stands - unsurprisingly - under the axle. If you put them under the chassis you'll find the ARB more difficult to refit as the axle will be under full droop.

Thanks Terra m8...

I can see that putting it up on axle stands would give much better access...but boy do I hate getting under any suspended vehicle...I always always use axle stands but even with them I hate getting underneath..I dont mind working at the side and stretching in when I have to...but crawling completely underneath gives me the jitters..think I'll give it a go with wheels on the ground first..see how I fair...
