remote not working nor is the download

tried the download , but turning the key on and off six time does not cause the emergancy lights to flash, i have followed the download exactly several times and over several days but nothing,

now i only have one key its black with a red rectangle on near the hanger,
i can only assume the key is not the master key (all red) like you get on modern fords linked to the ecu

anyuone got any other ideas ? its a 98 maverick 2.7tdi

is yours the key with the button on or the seperate alarm fob?
it works for the key fob one as ive done mine several times but you do have to be pretty quick with all the operations.

hi its the fob i have, but i cant even get to that the lights dont flash after turning key 6 times

have got a spare key fob if you need one cheap.is the battery ok in the fob or are you just not getting any response from the ignition turning bit.
as i said to do the complete re program takes about 30 seconds from start to finish,so you have to be pretty quick with the the old key turning,but not so quick that it doesn't register it.

We will have to remove the download if like you say its not working.

the download instructions worked for me when ive done mine.about 4 times now i have used the same instructions for re programming my key fobs.

ps mav what sort of mpg do you get from your 2.4?

Mav leave the download where it is as it does work spot on :smile: :smile: :smile: Wish I could say the sam about my nats remote as it won't unlock any more as I think the ciruit board has had it :roll:

im not saying your download is not working "perrish the thought !" , im sugesting your download is not working on my car or key,


so do i need a special red key the master or is my key with the red bit on the master or will any key do ?

is there another test i can do to see if its my key or ecu or something else on my jeep not working ,

i know the download should work as its the standard nissan reset feature

i have tried key from
unlocked to ignition lights on
and
stearing locked possition to ignition lights on

i have new batteries in fob but like i say i cant even get the lights to flash yet

Does your Mav have an alarm fitted also worked by the fob? It may be a Ford or aftermarket system not the same as the Nissan.

yes it does. it runs off a seperate fob so i guess it an after market one, i tried it once but im not big on alarms and dont really need one as i live on top of a mountain and no passers by

im sure when i tried it it worked the alarm but did nothing with the locks so threw the fob in a drawer and forgot about it,

i will have to dig it out and re try when it stops raining although its always bloody raining here in sunny wales

ok its fixed now

hi just to let you know...the remote central locking works now, it was the after market alarm that was fitted it also does the locks too

im guessing this had overwriten or by passed the nissan fob re-program program,

it all works fine with the after market alarm,,

thought i would update incase somone else has the same problem in the future
