Any advice on changing the rear wheel brake cylinders on a terrano. I'm assuming bolts will shear. The only luck I have is bad luck so please I need to hear the worse case scenario lol

Worst case... you barley sugar the brake line, requiring replacement.

I assume you have already had the brake drum off, and this has shown the cylinder needs replacing.
There are two piston diameters, but many suppliers just supply the one size, so if changing just one, you might have slight brake imbalance.

If bolts shear on cylinder... no big deal, saves undoing them.
With care, no need to remove brake shoes, I placed a poly bag over the brake fluid container and put the cap back on, reduces fluid loss when swapping over.

Easy job on a good day...

Cheers for the reply Rustic. I've yet to take the drum off to confirm cylinder. I'll double check to make sure though.

Give the brake line union a wire brush then a good squirt of plus gas and work it too and fro so as not to shear it, just be patient and all should be good. Best of luck...

I managed to replace mine (1997 T2) without shearing anything. But the rear metal brake line developed a minor crack, so replaced that one as well. Was about time anyway; both sides were corroded under the clamp.

What's plus gas ?? Sounds good as every bolt I undo snaps :doh I've found bigger the bolt the more likely it is to remove

Plus Gas Blue or Red can ?

There used to be 2 types one in a Blue can & One in a Red can don't know if they still do both ?
