why are the bolts that hold these so long ?

when you try to undo them the first time they are caked in mud crap and underseal,

it takes ages with wire brush and underseal, salt etc, to undo

that is a very good question, just why Nissan made so many of its exposed bolts over length is something I have wondered over since owning a T2, Rick
