Hi all, noticed today a familiar clicking noise when i set off....i say familiar because it wasnt very long since i experienced it before.

I climbed underneath and grabbed the rear propshaft only to find that the rear Universal Joint seems to have failed again, causing the UJ to vibrate and rattle.

I cant find it on my list of posts but its not very long since i replaced it, surely it shouldnt ever go again?

I bought the joints from Milner 4x4, should i try and complain to them?

Its not a particularly difficult job to redo but should i just buy from my local motor factor or will i need to buy from Milners again?

Cheers
Stephen

I got mine from Milner's and it's been fine, I have towed my cararvan many times and a few cars with it, no issues with the UJ at all.

They are obliged to keep records of their sales anyway, so a quick call to them should sort it out. Assuming we're talking months here not years :thumbs

Ah just checked your siggy, have you raised the suspension aswell ?
If so you'll beon your own mate. Higher prop angle and all that
I just expect todo mine every now and then :doh

To have failed that quick suggests dare I say, it but poor assembly, it is possible that the rollers were "soft" but almost unheard of, I would source a new one from local motor factors, fit it and send old one back but test the cups and rollers fist with a file, if not hard as they should be you will be able to file them also check the grease content, Rick

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.
Yes it was November last year i replaced them....I have only done a body lift no suspension lift.

i dont mind replacing them, they are only about £12.00 each end...

Tried my local motor factor and they said they dont do them, may try Andrew Page tomorrow...
