Hi guys lifer my rear seats today and remover the carpet and shock !!!

The floor has rusted through !!!!

I'm looking to find another t2 with a decent floor pan that can cut out and il have to get it welded in

Anyone with a Lwb that's going to be scrapped also as close to Surrey as poss

Thanks in advance guys

Drop fuel tank, cut it all out, weld in a frame from box and sheet over the top

.

The part that has gone is from where the seats fold to just past wheel arch.

I was thinking about sheet but there are so many contours.

If u fold your seats up and imagine that whole section needs replacing to the wheel arch.

That's why I was thinking of cutting it out and welding a new bit in.

I see what u mean, it's a mess and a bugger to fix

I don't mean to worry you but if the floor is that rotten what else is rotten. If I was you before I spend any money repairing such bad rot I'd be checking the rest of the car to see just how bad the rest is.

not a common place for them to rot would have expected to see large holes on inner wing where seatbelt mount is but as said check rest of car like innerwings where joins bulkhead , sills , inner rear wheelarch. With the right part floor could be done in 2-3 hours not to difficult to do done much much worse over the years

My wifes Mk 2 had a bit of rot there, not as bad as yours, but clearly it is a place that needs checking oh and it is made worse by the fact it is double skinned in places, might be something to do with heat deflection from the exhaust but I am guessing here, I know Swifty had to weld from underneath as well as inside in order to maintain the 2 skins, Rick

.

The rest of the truck seems to ok the inner wheel arches all round seem ok the rear seatbelt holes are shot too but whilst doing the floor I will get them done.

The rot does stop both sides and goes back to being solid again

The sills both sides also seem solid too

.

Cncfabs how much would that part of the floor pan be and would you cut it out and send it up to me in Surrey ??
