Hi guys,

i forgot about this from last week i noticed my diff breathers snapped off at the axel.

So can this be drilled out like a normal snapped bolt? Or would the metal bits cause havoc in the axel?

Also is the hollow bolt required a nissan only bit?

Cheers in advance lads

The pipe that has snapped off is brazed to the stud that screws into the axle casing, just unscrew the hex stud (plug the hole with a bit of rag) and get someone to drill it out and re braze a new piece of pipe into it, for size the old bit will be still in the rubber hose, it might even be long enough to re braze it, Rick

Hi rick, by Brazing is it just copper pipe then? Cheers again. This forums teaching me loads about these motors.

Exactly same as my project car, the exhaust had snapped and had been bouncing on the breather for quite sometime. Anyhoo as said unscrew and screw a replacement in. Not sure if it was Rick or CNCfabs that I got the replacement union from.

You could just unscrew the fitting from the axle and put another one in. Or change the fitting for one that takes nylon pipe and raise the breather.
