Hi I am new to the forum but have just acquired a great Terrano 11 3.0 swb van. On my travels I saw an identical vehicle with a folding rear seat and belts. keen to glaze the rear panels again and obtain a seat. Is it the same as the LWB 3rd row or different altogether and any idea of cost from Nissan dealer? any one else re-glazed a swb van? Thanks Ci Ci

I think it would be easier to fit standard swb rear seats, the iner side panels will have to be changed for the seat belts I think as never looked inside a T2 van.
I would take some asprin & sit down when you get a price from nissan because I think you'll need it 8O

Sweety, thanks. I might have a sniff around the odd breakers before I take the Nissan leap. The parts chap locally did the "first time anyones ever asked for that" routine but was Ok on the seat belts so I will start the search! Regards Ci Ci

You could probably find all the parts you need either through the club or on ebay, as there are usually some trucks being broken up for spares.
May also be worth trying www.Findapart.com and www.1st.Choice.co.uk who will search scrapyards for parts for you.
All the best, Matt.

Thanks Matt - just got an offer of seats and belts for £90 which I suspect is cheaper than new Nissan parts and should do the job fine. thanks Ci Ci

That sounds good to me  I had to replace a seat base fabric on a rover 12 years ago under warranty & the price was £98 8O That was just the fabric not including the labour

Might be easier to change the vehicle for a SWB station wagon!

There used to be something about converting hardtops to passenger carrying vehicles, in terms of duty & VAT, not sure if this still applies. Its to do with the fact a hardtop is a commercial vehicle, so VAT can be reclaimed etc.

Also insurance may likely be more expensive as a company would need a high level of proof that the work had been done to a good enough standard, and was safe enough, but even so it would still be classed as a modified vehicle.

If you need anything else theres a SWB in a yard near me ould check them out for you if you want. Presume you'll need glass etc, might be interested in your blanking side panels if they come out intact and you don't want them.

dicky seat in terrano 3.0l

Thanks for comments and advice. going to do seats first and windows later but will remember the blanking plates offer. Agree as commercial will be in part tax exempt, but will need to check what applies to 2nd hand vehicles re tax rules. will also check with insurers - good pont, thanks again CiCi
