Along with a huge list of other jobs, I have to take the rear bumper off to get it re-attached to the side mounting thing. I tried to undo the bolts under the wheel arch but one snapped off so I gave up.
I thought about drilling holes in the side of the bumper so I can get a screwdriver in, undo the mounting, fix it to inside of the bumper, then screw the whole lot back on to the car.
If someone has removed their rear bumper could they point me at the fixings please, I can only see the two 12mm head bolts under the arches, there must be more.

Take a look at my links below :augie No Rear Bumper :augie

Its the same as the front

2 bolts either side ( cant remember if there are any on the side :doh )

Just be carefull when diconecting the lights as the plugs will be all nice & muddy  :augie

:thumbs

I was thinking of your pics when I was writing, don;t want to go that extreme !
The bumper is sort of hanging off the left hand side, and I can't move it enough to get it back on the wobbly little plastic slide-in mounting thing. Looks like I'll have to drop the whole thing off, or dril the holes.
Fuggit, I'll get me noisy cordless drill out tomorrow and scare the tyre fitter while he's doing the tracking. Might even do the robot thing if I'm feeling in the mood. :splif

:lol

Its not that extreme  :augie

If i did it again on another 1 :sly :naughty :D

I'd remove the brake lights & replace with LED Fork Lift lights as they have ; rear lights, brake, reverse & reflectors :D & then ya can just wake a fog light on :D job done :D
Then you just run the fuel tank electrics underneath which will then do away with the loom that you can see in mine :thumbs

The bonus is you now have good rear clearance & can fit a tow bar directly to the chassis like the Shogun / Pajeros have :D just haven't got round to it yet  :doh
