Does anyone know if the later Terrano has darker rear lights than the face lifted 2000 model. Basically mine looks to have darker bumper lights made more obvious by fitting a replacement. The texture of the lens feels rough as though it may of been sprayed, tried some cutting compound to rub the spray off but this has made no difference at all. The replacement has a higher light output but doesn't look as good.

I think this is possible as my reversing light has like a smoky tint to it and iv'e noticed earlyer ones don't seem to have this

Yeah they do look better but they seem to reduce the light output. I was up in the Yorkshire dales last weekend and needed to turn around in the dark and the reverse light was poor.

I know the maverick ones are tinted as I bought one from a breakers and compared to the terrano one it was loads darker.
Looked better but the light was crap to say the least.

TIP : If you are going to take out the rear lights, wrap the cables up in spira wrap or something similar before putting the lights back in.
In time the cables rub against the chassis behind the light units and eventually through the PVC insulation causing intermittent back lights and dash illumination fuse failure as the vehicle goes along.

Took months to find that one :doh
