I've been looking over my Terrano to see what it needs for the test which thankfully has mainly limited itself to exhaust rubbers, drop links and front anti rollbar bushes which isn't bad for a vehicle that hasn't seen an MOT in five years. However, I noticed that both rear and one of the front bump stops are missing. I will probably have to replace the front one like for like but since the rears seem to only have been rubber blocks of some description, does anybody have any suggestions as to what I could stick onto the brackets to make a suitable replacement?

I have seen Land Rover rectangular blocks on Ebay for a fiver or so each and was wondering if they might do?

I have no idea what was there before so I'm not sure of correct dimensions etc. The old brackets are still intact on mine and I don't intend to try to remove them as much bolt shearing and subsequent swearing would no doubt ensue...

P.S. The lower bush in one of my front shocks is knackered as well. I don't want to buy a new pair of shocks just for that so any tips as to how to fix it would be gratefully received.

The rear bump stops look similar to these off a trooper. ebay item no. 390620080831

I don't know if they will fit, as I have no clue what size these are, all's I can say is that the rubber looks similar.

Don't use the landie bump stops for the back end  The terrano ones are actually meant to assist the rear springs under load and so have a hole in them so they can deform.
CNCFABS usually has some breaking T2s , give him a shout.
The front however is as you say just a bump stop and you could replace like 4 like or use something like you linked to.
Shock bushes are a pain and if anyone else knows where to get them from on their own, I'll have several :D

Ok, now I know what they are supposed to look like though those are a little (ok, a lot :D) more than I want to spend.

I nearly took the chance and bought those so thanks for the warning. I will pm CNCFABS and see if he has anything that would suit, so thanks for the tip. As for the shock bushes, Milners supply PU ones for the rear. I don't know if they would or could be made to fit but I found their delivery charge to be steep, which for two of those bushes and three exhaust rubbers was coming to £12 + vat. I know the cost of postage has gone up in recent times but that seems excessive.

I've angle grinded my fronts off and It went for MOT that way and nothing was said :)

Fronts are more to protect the ball joints and cv from extreme flex. No biggie for ordinary driving without them :thumbs

Yeh but to be fair it's not just the stamp cost, you got to pay a man to put it in a bag and then the company needs some sort of secured delivery etc
There is a club discount with Milners by the way, though I'm not clear exactly how you get it ? :augie

Fronts also provide another essential service. If you dont have them and your torsion bar snaps you will loose your steering
