Rear brale light

so today I was fitting new wiper blades, and of course tested them. Noted a large majority of the rear wash coming back inside the car. I took apart the trim over the back door glass, and began repairing the rubber pipe that had come unplugged, and I noticed a plug which I presumed was for an optional rear brake light.

Ages and ages ago, Briggie gave me this generic rear light, so I grabbed it and pushed both wires into the two holes of the plug to test, and it worked ok. So I figure this week my little project can be to fit it, but I wanted to check if anyone else already had one, and how is the light itself actually fixed to the door?? I figure Ill have to drill through the trim, possibly into the metal door framework....

yes the wiring is all there even if no light was fitted originally. The one I used is glued on the inside of the window. regards bri

My '94 T2 doesn't have one, neither does it have the wiring in the door to fit one (I bought a self-adhesive led brake light thinking the connections would be there) and I couldn't be a***d to run a cable from the existing brake lights!

Yes i have have done that that using the plug that was behind the trim, fitted an extra inline fuse just in case

ahh, nice one Kwondo. My light has a central adjustable mount, so not as fancy as yours!! still, looks like I can mount on the trim, although my light might be heavier than yours.....

yes i had to use superglue as the sticky pads did not work very well

Terrano do a high level brake light and it'll just screw on and plug in :thumbs
A quick trip to the scrappy with a loose fitting coat and bob's your fanny's aunt :sly
