Took my Nissan Patrol 3.0TD GR LWB for an MOT today and it passed on everything EXCEPT rear brakes !.. He said the rear brakes were just NOT working. They couldnt work out why. The front brakes worked, the handbrake too but NOTHING from the rear brakes..

He rang around a mate or two and they could not say what the cause may be..

Please can someone help. This is my main mode of transport.. I am scuppered without it..

I am based in Sandbach Cheshire

Cheers

Peter :(

I had a similar experience with my 1995 Mistral ... The front brakes and handbrake were ok on the brake test, but the rear brakes were slightly below the pass figure. We never did find out why, but because the front & handbrake figures were so good, he passed it.

rear brakes

dont know what the set up for your brakes are but you can adjust them manually on the terrano.theres a workshop in the downloads section, have a look to see if there are any simularaties.sorry i can't be of any more help but i'm sure someone with some knowledge on this will be along soon :?

I'm not really mechanically minded, and don't know anything about the Patrol, but could there be a brake compensator in the system, which balances out the braking pressures between front brakes and rear brakes ? If so, could this be playing up ? . The only suggestion I can think of would be to try and bleed the rear brakes, and if the fluid does not come out under reasonable pressure, it would suggest a blockage somewhere .... it's only a suggestion - I'm NO mechanic.

All the best, Matt.
