What are the Rear ARB links like to replace? bare in mind that I'm not as confident as I used to be. Probably just out of practice I guess.

Has anone got any tips?

hi jim , theres a download for the front arb drop links , but not the rear , i know nuffin but im guessing its quite easy unless someone knows different

yes easy enough to do baring completely rusted nuts, then a nut splitter or disc cutter could be handy, Rick

just thinking , it might be an idea for someone to do a download on this , or a step by step guide even :nenau

I replaced mine and found them easy to do, use plenty of WD40 and I found a deep socket was handy too,no need to jack the car either, just lay on the ground and away you go, Oh watch what you buy, I bought some from ebay and one broke within a few miles.

Not done these yet but saw them yesterday while i was doing my rear shocks and springs.

Decided that an angle grinder would be adequate to cut the nut off the bottom balljoint end of it where it attaches to the anti roll bar.
Felt around the top of it and it's enclosed on 3 sides and you can just about guarantee it will be rusty!
I'd cut in to and through the lower exposed bush and continue through the link rod but *only* if there would be enough clearance in the enclosed top section to pull the remainder of that rod out and clear.

I did front ones a few years ago but had to use two jacks at opposite sides of the car so that I could get everything to fit together. Is the back going to be the same?

Thanks for the replies so far

No, they are much easier than the fronts.

As Rick and Kishada say, a disc cutter can be handy or a hacksaw, no need to jack the car up, all goes together easy as well

they do look easy.

if you need a helping hand, Jim, give me a ring ill pop over.

Its 4 nuts all in all. i did mine Saturday (Sorry never though to do a download for it) I just cut the nuts off top and bottom and removed the arms. As said no jack needed as the ARB wont move when its free, it just sits there.

When you put the new ones on, make sure the ball joint part has a flat edge on 2 sides, because sometimes when you go to tighten them up the ball join will spin, you will need to put a spanner onto the inner side to stop it.

I think makeitfit can advise on a 'rose joint' upgrade for this, cost no more but much better! It's what i am planning to do soon as mine will need replacing next MOT :thumb2

Well due to time I ended up taking it to local garage, cost more but the car was ready for the busy weekend. I really wish I wasn't so flipping busy.
