As above really, when the Mav is at low revs I get a really loud rattling sounds from what sounds like the underneath of the car.

I've had a quick check of the backbox and that seems secure but I've been unable to get under the car properly yet, I'm going to have a look when I'm back from work but can you guys think of anything it could be that I can check whilst I'm under there?

I'm going to do the sunroof while I'm at it as well

I think I've found the source of the rattling at low revs :)
I believe that it's coming from the sump guard? is it?, the piece of metal that is held on by 4 screws right behind the front bumper

I got under with a rubber mallet yesterday and gently hit anything that looked like it could be the suspect until I got to the front and I heard the noise that I get when at low revs.

This seems to be the issue!!! It looks like the head of the screw has sheared off and the thread has been left in there :(

I was thinking of getting the car on a ramp and drilling it out, can anyone recommend a better way of doing this?

Finally got under the car yesterday when I grabbed some ramps from my mates. I started to remove the shield but when getting the 10mm socket on them, one turn and they would snap off.

So now I have the heat shield off which has stopped the noise :), but now have to get it back on and drill out the 4 threads still stuck in there.

Does anyone know where I can get the replacements from ?

I had a sump guard but it was so gay it crumpled on the first bad landing :doh
It's not really up to offroading, it just keeps the grass out the works when laning :thumbs

If your drilling and tapping you can get a couple of bolts cheap from screwfix, any thread you like as your tapping it.

my rattle was the guard around the knuckle joint on the propshaft , it was really annoying , easy fixed tho , and peace after :thumb2
